Influencer stunned as unauthorized cardboard clones of her sold online
New York-based influencer Kelsey Kotzur, 31, has landed in an unexpected controversy after learning that full-sized cardboard replicas of her likeness were being sold without her consent. Kotzur took to social media to express disbelief, revealing that strangers had been using her photos to manufacture and market these cutouts for profit.
She initially discovered these life-sized images of herself last year but was recently informed that new versions had surfaced online. Shockingly, some listings priced the cutouts close to $80, with one particular product labeled as a “HOT Item” after receiving significant attention.
The cutouts appeared across popular platforms like eBay, Amazon, and previously, Walmart—although Walmart has since removed them. They are reportedly being sold through a site called Celebrity Cutouts, which is known for offering similar products featuring famous personalities, from actors and politicians to internet creators such as Serena Kerrigan, Jake Paul, and Logan Paul.
Kotzur’s reaction was a mix of amusement and unease. While her family purchased one of the replicas as a joke, she confessed she didn’t know whether to feel complimented or creeped out by the entire ordeal. In her video, she labeled the situation “insane” and asked her followers, “Who is doing this?”
Social media users chimed in, calling the scenario both funny and unsettling, with some questioning why anyone, apart from family, would buy such cutouts.
No official response has come yet from Celebrity Cutouts regarding the matter.
