Islamabad: “Jaish-e-Muhammed does not exist in Pakistan. It has been proscribed by the United Nations and Pakistan also. Secondly, we are not doing anything under anybody’s pressure,” Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asif Ghafoor said, news agency PTI reported quoting CNN.
Ghafoor’s statement comes in contrary to Foriegn Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Reports from PTI state that during an interview with CNN, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said “Masood Azhar, Jaish-e-Mohammed, is present in Pakistan, and the government can act against him only if India presents “solid” and “inalienable” evidence that can stand in a court of law”.
Ghafoor has also dismissed India’s claim of destroying the JeM terrorist camp, saying that not even a single brick has been found in the mentioned area where the so called Surgical Strike had taken place nor any causalty reported.
The Indian Air Force had carried out air strikes targetting JeM terror camps in Pakistan’s Balakot on February 26 as a retaliatory action for the Pulwama attack.
