Dubai Police successfully rescued an Arab national who became stranded in the rugged mountains of Hatta after an intensive two-day search operation involving multiple specialised rescue and emergency response teams.

The rescue mission was coordinated by Hatta Police Station after the Command-and-Control Centre received an emergency report from the man, who requested assistance after losing his way in the mountainous region.

Massive rescue effort launched

Brigadier Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Hatta Police Station, said rescue teams were mobilised immediately after the distress call was received.

The operation involved the Brave Team, Hatta Police patrols, the National Ambulance air unit, Dubai Police Air Wing, the Difficult Missions Team from the General Department of Transport and Rescue, National Guard patrols and paramedics from the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

Authorities said the search operation faced significant challenges due to inaccurate location information provided by the stranded individual, as well as the difficult terrain and steep mountain elevations.

Despite these obstacles, rescue personnel continued the search and eventually located the missing man after two days. He was provided with the necessary medical assistance following his rescue.

Specialised teams equipped for emergencies

Brigadier Al Ketbi highlighted that Hatta Police maintain specialised patrol units designed for operations in mountainous areas, valleys and remote locations frequently visited by tourists and adventure enthusiasts.

These vehicles are equipped with advanced communication systems, rescue tools and specialised tyres capable of navigating rough terrain.

Officers assigned to such operations also receive specialised training to respond effectively to emergencies around the clock.

Public urged to follow safety guidelines

Dubai Police urged residents and visitors exploring mountainous regions to remain on designated routes and avoid venturing into unmarked areas.

Authorities advised anyone facing emergencies in remote locations to immediately contact police through the emergency number 999 or use the SOS feature available on the Dubai Police mobile application.

Officials stressed that providing accurate location details can significantly improve response times and assist rescue teams in reaching those in need more quickly.
