New Delhi: Despite Pakistan’s claims about a crackdown on terrorists operating on its soil, it is now said that terror mastermind Masood Azhar is not in jail, but is relaxing in the sprawling Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters located in Bahawalpur.
The Pak authorities had recently claimed that the terrorist had been arrested, but sources say that Masood’s last location has been traced to ‘Markaz Subhanallah’, the headquarters of the terror outfit. The name of the headquarters means ‘centre for praising God’ and this place is said to be a huge complex with modern amenities, mainly utilised to hold meetings with Jaish top brasses.
Sources also claim that Masood, who was suffering from various health issues is now recovering and has been now avoiding making a public appearance, not even to deliver sermons. He is said to be living with his relatives and family members here.
It was Masood’s outfit, which had claimed the responsibility for the February Pulwama attack, which killed over 40 soldiers.
Azhar is wanted in India for several attacks including the 26/11 Mumbai terror. Last week, the government declared Azhar a terrorist after the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was amended to declared individuals as terrorists too, not just organisations.
