Dubai: In a historic first for Dubai, the Indo-International Fashion Carnival & Awards (IIFCA) and International Pride Awards (IPA) recently collaborated to organize the highly anticipated Mr, Ms & Mrs. Star Universe 2023 beauty pageant. After intense competition and talent displays, Mrs. Mangala Swathi from Mangalore, Karnataka emerged victorious in the Mrs. Star Universe category. Meanwhile, Ms. Shrishti Maharjan from Nepal and Mr. Deepak Somashekar secured their titles as Ms. Star Universe and Mr. Star Universe, respectively.
The event, held under the banner of SV Fida International Beauty Pageant and spearheaded by the renowned Mrs. Sudha, founder, director & organizer of Sudha Ventures, was a resounding success, Mrs. Sudha, herself a recipient of prestigious titles like ‘Mrs. Universe Charm – 2019’ and ‘Mrs. East Pacific Asia,’ is credited for her outstanding work in organizing the SHERO awards, which recognize and celebrate women’s achievements and upliftment.
A significant highlight of the pageant was the dazzling talent round and captivating fashion runway. The latter showcased the creations of top designers from UAE, including Old Story Trading, Syeda Fashion from Ajman, and Priya Fashions Boutique owned by Mrs. Priya Fernandes.
The esteemed jury panel comprised eminent personalities like H.E. Amb. Dr. Ishha Farha Quraishy – the reigning Ms. Universe solidarity and Ms. UAE United Nations, Mrs. Anila Shreshta – Mrs. Universe Nepal 2019, Honey Cho – Mrs. Universe Myanmar, Mr. Hanif Shaikh – Chairman & founder of Emirates Holding Group, and Mr. Gautham Bangera – Mr. UAE International 2022.
Adding a touch of Bollywood glamour, Mr. Aftabh Shivdasani, a famous Bollywood celebrity, graced the occasion and crowned the winners. He also bestowed the International Pride Awards upon the outstanding designers and achievers present.
The prestigious event garnered the presence of distinguished VIP guests, including the office bearers of Al Mualla family from Umm Al Quwain, who were enthralled by the grandeur of the occasion.
