The family of a 14-year-old from North Carolina is suing American Airlines over allegations that a flight attendant surreptitiously taped an iPhone to a restroom to record the teenager using the facilities during a flight.
Lawyers representing the teenager and her parents argue that the airline should have been aware of the potential danger posed by the flight attendant. They contend that the failure of other crew members to confiscate the employee’s phone allowed him to tamper with evidence. The lawsuit was officially filed in the United States district court in North Carolina, targeting both American Airlines and the unidentified flight attendant.
American Airlines has responded, stating that the flight attendant was promptly removed from service following the alleged incident and has not been on duty since.
