A new and highly controversial trend on TikTok has caused a stir, with Israeli content creators mocking the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The trend involves creators posing as members of a humanitarian organization, calling family and friends to solicit donations for Palestinian children. The prank then unfolds when the recipients react angrily to the request, often using harsh language, before the creators reveal it was all a joke.

One video shared by Israeli influencer Yakir Bar Zohar shows him asking strangers to donate money for “hungry children” in Gaza. When one passerby agrees to help, Zohar shocks him by asking, “Are you sure you want to donate to children who are going to be terrorists?” Other videos of similar nature have surfaced, some created by teenagers and even soldiers.

In one such video, a soldier calls her extreme-right-wing father asking for a donation for Gaza’s children. The father angrily refuses, expressing harsh disdain for the idea, before the prank is revealed.

The trend has sparked heated debates online, with many condemning the mockery of the humanitarian crisis. Critics argue that the trend trivializes the suffering of Palestinians, especially children, while others see it as a troubling reflection of growing political divides.
