A video showing former US President Joe Biden being confronted by a passenger over the war in Gaza has surfaced online, drawing widespread attention.

The interaction reportedly took place aboard a flight departing from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. In the clip, a woman approaches Biden’s first-class seat and begins by thanking him for taking the time to speak.

The conversation shifted when she raised concerns about children dying in Gaza. “Children in Gaza are dying every day,” she said. Biden responded briefly, “I know that,” before trailing off. A member of his team then intervened and asked the woman to move along.

Passenger later speaks out

The passenger, identified in reports as Nusaiba Mubarak, later spoke to media outlets, criticising Biden’s handling of the Gaza conflict. She described the exchange as emotional and said she felt compelled to confront him.

She further alleged that Biden’s aides quickly intervened once Gaza was mentioned and accused the administration of failing to prevent civilian casualties.

Gaza policy under scrutiny

The incident comes amid continued debate over US policy toward Israel’s military operations in Gaza following the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas.

Reports indicate Biden was travelling to Columbia, South Carolina, for an event with the state’s Democratic Party. He was seen interacting with passengers and posing for photographs prior to boarding.

The administration’s stance on the Gaza conflict has drawn scrutiny within Democratic circles. According to recent political reporting, internal reviews following the 2024 election have examined whether the party’s handling of the issue affected voter support, particularly among younger and progressive voters.

The brief exchange aboard the flight has since circulated widely on social media, reflecting the intensity of public sentiment surrounding the ongoing conflict.
