A 20-year-old man from Texas has been charged after allegedly attacking properties linked to Sam Altman and threatening violence at OpenAI headquarters in San Francisco.
Authorities identified the accused as Daniel Moreno-Gama.
He now faces state and federal charges including attempted murder, attempted arson, explosives offences and destruction of property allegations.
Attack alleged at Altman residence
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly threw an incendiary device at homes linked to Altman in the early hours of the morning.
A fire was reportedly triggered near a driveway gate before the suspect fled the area.
No injuries were reported.

Roughly 90 minutes later, authorities allege Moreno-Gama arrived at OpenAI headquarters carrying kerosene and other incendiary materials.
Investigators said he struck glass doors with a chair and threatened to burn the building and harm those inside.
Security staff alerted police, who arrested him at the scene.
Handwritten document recovered
Officials said a handwritten multi-part document was recovered after the arrest.
Prosecutors allege it referenced anti-AI beliefs, named Altman and included details relating to other technology figures.
Authorities described the incident as planned and targeted.
Terrorism angle under review
Federal officials said additional charges could be considered if evidence supports intent to influence policy or intimidate through violence.
The accused remains in custody.
