Popular Nigerian TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has appealed to his followers for financial support after his Mercedes Benz SUV was severely damaged in a road accident that occurred in December 2025.

The accident took place on the busy Lekki–Epe Expressway and drew widespread attention as it happened during a live TikTok session. The footage of the crash quickly went viral, sparking concern among fans and social media users across platforms.

₹11 million repair cost revealed

In a recent TikTok live session after returning home, Peller disclosed that repairing his luxury SUV would cost about ₦11 million. He admitted that the amount was beyond what he could manage alone and appealed to his fans to contribute, saying he only wished to get the vehicle back on the road.

The influencer said the accident had affected him both financially and emotionally. “Seeing the car in that condition has been difficult for me,” he shared, adding that the incident came at a time when he was still recovering physically and mentally from the crash.

Mixed reactions from fans

Peller’s appeal triggered divided reactions online. While many fans expressed sympathy and offered support, others questioned why a well-known influencer would seek public donations for repairing a luxury vehicle.

Some users argued that content creators also face unexpected financial pressures, while critics felt the fundraiser was inappropriate given Peller’s perceived wealth and online success.

Controversy and official warnings

The incident also stirred controversy after Peller earlier suggested that the crash might have been deliberate — a claim that drew sharp backlash. Authorities, including the Lagos State Police and the Federal Road Safety Corps, later warned that legal action could follow if investigations pointed to reckless driving.

Peller was briefly hospitalised following the accident and subsequently took time off social media to recover before resuming live sessions.

Content creation beyond the camera

Despite criticism, Peller said he hopes supporters who genuinely care about him will assist. He believes repairing the vehicle will help him return fully to daily life and content creation.

The episode has reignited debate about influencer culture, public expectations, and the pressures faced by viral creators — highlighting that challenges extend beyond filming and online fame.
