New Delhi: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the Pakistani government to take into custody two Hindu girls who are alleged victims of forced religious conversion, here on Tuesday, March 26.
As per the reports of one of the national media sections of Pakistan, the two Hindu girls namely Raveena and Reena from Ghotki district were allegedly abducted, forcibly converted to Islam and made to marry Muslim men.
Both the girls had approached the IHC seeking protection against forceful religious conversion.
The Chief Justice of IHC directed the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner and Director General Human Rights, to take the girls into custody until the case is resolved.
The court pronounced that Raveena and Reena cannot be taken back to Sindh, keeping in mind the repercussions post the complaint filed by them.
The two Hindu minor girls were kidnapped during the festivity of Holi from their home located at Ghotki district in Sindh.
A group of men who had abducted them had handed them over to Muslim men for marriage. The video of performing their Nikah (marriage) had gone viral on social media which also triggered a spark in India.
