A viral moment from a recent wedding has stirred up debate about the integration of technology into personal events. Jacob Wright, an American software engineer employed at the artificial intelligence startup Runpod, opted to wear a sophisticated virtual reality headset, the $3,500 Apple Vision Pro, during his nuptial photos with his bride, Cambree, on February 10th in Utah. The images circulated widely, prompting various opinions regarding the appropriateness of such a choice.

Wright, known for his avid interest in exploring new technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for experimenting with the device. The couple, residing in Utah where Cambree is pursuing studies at Brigham Young University, is contemplating a move to the Bay Area.

However, Cambree’s reaction to the situation was less enthusiastic, describing the headset as unsettling and expressing discomfort with its presence during the wedding festivities. She disclosed that she had to intervene to prevent Wright from wearing the headset during the actual ceremony, a request he persistently made.

Despite her reservations, Cambree conceded to Wright’s desire to incorporate the device into the wedding photoshoot, though she attempted to limit its usage. Despite her efforts, Wright managed to don the headset briefly during the reception, even bringing it onto the dance floor.

The incident has sparked diverse reactions online, with some criticizing Wright’s actions as insensitive and disrespectful, while others defended his right to express his individuality through technology.
