A woman hailing from Massachusetts, USA, whose husband, a well-known chef in reality television circles, reportedly left her and their two children, managed to locate him using Facebook. The man, identified as Charles Withers, had relocated to Texas, where he had been active on dating apps while his wife took care of their children back home, according to a report in the New York Post.
The incident unfolded after a social media user shared Ashley McGuire’s Facebook plea asking for assistance in finding her missing husband, who had been absent for a year. In a post within a popular Facebook group titled ‘Are We Dating the Same Guy,’ she revealed, “This is my husband, Charles Withers. He enjoys being the center of attention, but I’m not sure how much he’ll enjoy this. Last year, when I was pregnant with our youngest child, he decided that being a husband and father wasn’t the lifestyle he desired anymore, and he vanished without a trace.”

McGuire expressed her intent to divorce him and said, “It’s extremely challenging and protracted to divorce someone who’s completely unreachable, so I’m attempting to locate him to obtain his signature on some documents so I can finally move on with my life.”
Providing more details, she mentioned that her husband now goes by the name “Charlie” and described him as British and charming. She speculated that he might be working in the hospitality industry and might not have disclosed his marital status or children to others.

Within a day of her post, numerous women claimed to have matched with him on dating apps, with some stating that he had shared his Texas address with them for potential meetings.
McGuire later updated her social media post, stating that she had received sufficient information to locate her husband. She requested support from fellow single mothers and discouraged any threats, hate speech, or attempts to physically locate him.
In her concluding remarks, she expressed her desire for closure and a fresh start for herself and her children. She mentioned Withers’ previous career achievements, including his involvement in the Falmouth dining scene and an appearance on The Food Network’s “Chopped” in 2022, as reported by the Boston Globe in 2021.
