A video circulating on social media purportedly shows US President Donald Trump making derogatory comments about Indians in response to a reporter’s question about a new customer service bill. In the video, Trump is said to criticize foreign customer service representatives with thick accents and claim that Indians should focus on cleaning up their country’s garbage. The clip led to widespread outrage, with users like @_Amoxicillin and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh condemning the remarks, accusing Trump of insulting India.

However, a detailed fact check reveals that the video is doctored. The channel that posted the video, “Sobering Satire,” clearly identifies the content as satire, and the logo in the video reads “Faux News,” a parody of Fox News. The altered video also credits voice artist Michael Clive for the performance. Further investigation by Alt News and reverse image searches confirm that the video was edited, with artificial intelligence used to sync Trump’s lip movements with a fabricated audio track.

In reality, there is no record of Trump making such comments, and his voice in the viral video differs significantly from his actual statements. This doctored video misled many, including political figures, into believing false claims about the former US President’s views on India.
