Amid mounting concerns about his re-election campaign, US President Joe Biden made another notable mistake today, introducing Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky as his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The incident occurred during a speech at the NATO Summit in Washington.

“And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination, ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Biden stated, mistakenly referring to Zelensky as Putin.

Zelensky appeared puzzled momentarily, then shook his head and smiled to himself. Biden quickly corrected himself, saying, “President Putin, I mean President Zelensky. You’re going to beat President Putin. I am so focused on beating Putin.”

Zelensky, regaining his composure, replied, “I am better (than Putin).”

“You are a hell of a lot better,” Biden responded before allowing Zelensky to proceed with his speech.

Shortly thereafter, Biden slipped up again during a crucial news conference, mistakenly referring to his deputy, Kamala Harris, as “Vice President Trump.”
