Noida: A tragic incident occurred at a Noida water park when a 25-year-old man from Delhi lost his life soon after using a water slide, triggering an investigation by the authorities, according to officials.
The victim, identified as Dhanjay Maheshwari, had gone to the Entertainment City water park within the Great India Place (GIP) Mall in Sector 38A, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sector 39 police station, along with a group of four friends last Sunday afternoon, officials reported.
“The group, after getting their swimwear and storing their personal items in lockers, proceeded directly to the water slide. They took turns going down the slide. During his turn, Maheshwari began experiencing difficulty breathing,” stated a representative from the police force.
Maheshwari attempted to rest on the ground, but when his condition did not improve, he was rushed to Kailash Hospital by an ambulance provided by the GIP Mall’s management, where he was pronounced dead, the representative added.
Manish Mishra, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) for Noida, mentioned that Maheshwari’s relatives arrived in Noida shortly after the incident, and arrangements were made to conduct an autopsy on the body.
Maheshwari was a resident of Adarsh Nagar, Shivaji Road Extension, in Delhi.
Regarding the cause of death, ADCP Mishra noted, “Legal steps have been taken, and the autopsy is expected to shed light on the exact cause of death.” In response to allegations from the victim’s family accusing the mall’s management of negligence, Mishra assured that these claims are under thorough investigation.
