London: After losing big to the Indian team for the seventh time in a row, team Pakistan faced a lot of backlash from their fans and supporters. The team was criticised, abused, heckled and trolled for their sorry performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match against India.
Pakistan Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was one of the main targets of the backlash. Fans called into question his fitness. Even the fact that he yawned during the crucial match was heavy trolled online.
Many of the team members pleaded with their fan base to not “use bad words for the players” but to no avail.
On Sunday, however, Pakistan scored a win against South Africa and their fans could not have been happier about it. Sarfaraz was seen giving autographs to his fans and it looks like the fans have forgiven their team. They are now, however, seeking their team’s forgiveness for having treated them so harshly for the past week.

Sarfaraz Bhai we are with you
I am sorry to say that It was such a shameful act performed from our side … These men are a pure reflection of their families … What they learn & what they do and they implement such kind of behaviours in practical life.#weStandwithSarfaraz— Muhammad Amjad Sohail (@Muhamma26387581) June 22, 2019
Now that Pakistan has won against South Africa, they will remain in the semi-finals, calming the Twitter storm for the time being.
Next, the team will be up against New Zealand, followed by Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
