Mark Zuckerberg has once again grabbed attention with his annual quirky Independence Day tradition — this time, by wakesurfing in a full-body inflatable red, white, and blue suit. The Meta CEO shared the outrageous video on July 4, adding yet another eccentric twist to his now-iconic celebrations of America’s birthday.
The clip begins with Zuckerberg aboard a boat, deadpanning into the camera. A message flashes: “Is this the stupidest thing we have done so far?” — which he repeats aloud before cutting to a hilarious scene of him wakesurfing across the water in the oversized, flag-themed suit.
“Happy 4th of July! US,” he simply captioned the post on Instagram. But simple didn’t stop it from going viral.
Social media users flooded the comments with amused reactions. “The internet now requires you to one-up this challenge every year until you’re holding a live eagle with fireworks shooting off the base of the board while chugging a beer in 2030,” joked one user. Another quipped, “I literally woke up this morning wondering what Zuckerberg would do this year.”
Zuckerberg has turned his Independence Day antics into a spectacle. In 2023, he wakesurfed in a tuxedo while balancing a beer and the American flag. And in 2021, he cruised across the water in slippers, waving the flag to Born in the USA.
Whether you love it or cringe, Zuck’s July 4th tradition is here to stay.
