Lavish Ordia, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat, has stated that the recent deaths of three residents in Tippanatagi village, Shorapur taluk, Yadgir district, were caused by prolonged health issues, and not due to consumption of contaminated water, as some media reports had suggested.

Mr. Ordia clarified on July 9 that an inspection was promptly carried out by the Health Department following the deaths. “The report confirms that the cause of death in all three cases was long-term illness, not unsafe drinking water,” he said.

To allay fears, the water being supplied to the village was thoroughly tested and was declared potable. Mr. Ordia assured that no traces of contamination were found in the samples examined.

In response to concerns raised by locals—after several residents reported falling ill—medical officers and health personnel, along with Mr. Ordia himself, visited Tippanatagi. A health camp was quickly established in the village to provide necessary medical attention and to monitor the situation.

He further emphasized that precautionary measures have been ramped up to ensure the well-being of all villagers, and the situation remains under close observation.

This official clarification seeks to counter misinformation and calm public anxiety surrounding the incident.
