Actor Darshan Receives Special Surgical Chair in Ballari Jail Amid Health Concerns
In a notable development, actor Darshan, currently an undertrial at Ballari jail, was provided with a surgical chair on Monday, replacing the standard Indian-style commode. This request was made by Darshan due to ongoing back pain. According to sources within the jail, Darshan had appealed to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons for this accommodation, citing medical reasons.
The DIG’s office reviewed the request thoroughly, consulting with orthopedic doctors to assess Darshan’s condition. The medical report submitted by the district health and family welfare department supported Darshan’s claim of back pain. As part of the verification process, doctors evaluated Darshan’s blood pressure, sugar levels, and other vital signs to ensure the legitimacy of his health issues.
In response to the approved request, health department officials delivered the surgical chair to the jail in the evening. Jail officials subsequently inspected the chair before providing it to Darshan.
Darshan, a key figure in the murder case of Renukaswamy, had previously been relocated from Parappana Agrahara in Bengaluru due to allegations of receiving preferential treatment. The provision of the surgical chair reflects the ongoing adjustments made in light of health concerns and the need for appropriate medical care.
