Aero India 2025: Bengaluru Metro Work Temporarily Paused
Bengaluru: With Aero India 2025 scheduled from February 10 to 14 at Yelahanka Air Force Station, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has directed Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) to suspend construction near its premises for 11 days. Work on the Airport Line halted from February 5 to 15 to accommodate aircraft parking. Operations will resume on February 16.
The 37km Airport Line from KR Pura to KIA is divided into three packages, with the final 15.01km stretch starting from Yelahanka. The affected area covers 1km, including a 750m underground tunnel, built using cut-and-cover technology due to flight path restrictions.
BMRCL has completed 70% of civil works on this segment, with 2km of tracks laid from the airport side. While Doddajala station is under construction, provisions for Bettahalasur and Chikkajala stations are in place for future expansion.
