New Delhi: Porsche is set to officially debut the all-electric Cayenne SUV in India on September 30, bringing the German luxury carmaker’s electric powertrain technology to one of its best-known SUV nameplates. The Cayenne Electric will be offered in India in two variants — Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric.

The India debut follows Porsche’s earlier announcement of the model and comes with the SUV positioned in the premium electric vehicle segment. Prices had already been announced, starting at around Rs 1.76 crore (ex-showroom), while the Turbo Electric is positioned at a substantially higher price point.

The Cayenne Electric combines a large 113 kWh battery, dual electric motors and all-wheel drive. The standard version produces 408 hp and 835 Nm, while the Turbo Electric develops 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm, making it one of the most powerful Porsche production models.

Porsche Cayenne Electric India launch date

Porsche India is scheduled to officially debut the Cayenne Electric on September 30, 2026. The company had announced the India pricing earlier, with bookings having opened previously and deliveries expected during the second half of 2026.

The India line-up will initially comprise the standard Cayenne Electric and the range-topping Cayenne Turbo Electric.

Both versions use the same 113 kWh battery architecture and dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout, but their power and performance figures differ significantly.

113 kWh battery and up to 642 km range

The standard Cayenne Electric gets a 113 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors. It produces 408 hp and 835 Nm of torque.

Porsche claims the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 230 kmph. Its claimed WLTP range is up to 642 km on a single charge.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric takes performance considerably further. It produces 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds. The Turbo Electric has a claimed top speed of 260 kmph and a WLTP range of up to 623 km.

These figures place the Cayenne Electric among the high-performance luxury electric SUVs available in the Indian market.

Regenerative braking and wireless charging

One of the notable technologies in the Cayenne Electric is its regenerative braking system.

Porsche says the SUV can recover energy at up to 600 kW through regenerative braking under suitable conditions. The company also says that around 97 per cent of braking can be handled by the electric motors, reducing the reliance on the conventional friction braking system.

Another notable feature is the availability of an optional 11 kW wireless charging system. The Cayenne Electric is Porsche’s first model to offer this technology, allowing compatible home charging equipment to transfer electricity without a conventional physical charging connection.

Charging performance is also supported by the SUV’s high-voltage electrical architecture, with Porsche offering fast-charging capability under suitable conditions.

Design retains Cayenne identity

Although the Cayenne Electric is an EV, its overall silhouette remains recognisable as a Cayenne. The electric SUV gets a revised front section with a largely blanked-off grille and additional air vents designed to manage cooling requirements for the battery and electrical components.

Active aerodynamic elements are also incorporated into the design.

The SUV can be specified with 20-inch to 22-inch alloy wheels, while the rear features a full-width LED light bar with illuminated Porsche lettering.

The Turbo Electric gets some additional exterior detailing, including a body-coloured skid plate, while the standard Cayenne Electric uses a black finish for the corresponding element.

Larger dimensions and practical boot space

The electric Cayenne measures 4,985 mm in length, making it 55 mm longer than the combustion-engine Cayenne. It has a 3,023 mm wheelbase, 1,980 mm width and 1,674 mm height.

Despite its performance focus, Porsche has also designed the SUV with everyday practicality in mind.

The Cayenne Electric gets a 90-litre front luggage compartment, or frunk, along with a 781-litre boot. Folding the powered rear seats increases the boot capacity to 1,588 litres.

Technology-focused interior

The cabin receives a digital driver’s display and a 14.5-inch curved infotainment touchscreen. Porsche says the latter is a first for one of its models in India.

An optional 14.9-inch passenger display is available, along with an augmented-reality head-up display.

Other equipment includes eight-way electrically adjustable front seats, with an option to upgrade to 18-way adjustable seats. Four-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and wireless smartphone charging are also available.

The standard audio system is a 14-speaker Bose unit, while buyers can opt for a 20-speaker Harman Kardon system.

Porsche Cayenne Electric price in India

The Cayenne Electric was previously announced with an India starting price of around Rs 1.76 crore ex-showroom. The Turbo Electric is positioned above the standard model, with published reports placing its price in the region of Rs 2.25 crore and above depending on the source and specification.

The final on-road cost will vary depending on the buyer’s location, taxes, insurance and selected options.

Rivals in India’s luxury EV market

The Porsche Cayenne Electric will enter an increasingly competitive luxury electric SUV segment in India.

Its reported rivals include the Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX and Lotus Eletre. The Cayenne differentiates itself through its performance-focused positioning, large battery, all-wheel-drive system and Porsche-specific chassis and technology features.

Porsche’s electric portfolio in India already includes models such as the Taycan and Macan Electric, with the Cayenne adding another major SUV nameplate to the company’s EV range.

Conclusion

The Porsche Cayenne Electric is scheduled to make its official India debut on September 30, 2026. The SUV will be offered in Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric variants, both using a 113 kWh battery and dual-motor all-wheel drive.

The standard version offers a claimed range of up to 642 km, while the Turbo Electric combines 1,156 hp with a claimed 0–100 kmph time of 2.5 seconds. With a starting price of around Rs 1.76 crore ex-showroom, the Cayenne Electric will target buyers looking for a luxury SUV that combines electric range with high-performance capability.
