Global electric vehicle giant Tesla has officially opened its first Experience Centre in Bengaluru, marking a major milestone in the company’s India expansion journey.
Located at VR Bengaluru Mall on Whitefield Main Road, the new facility gives customers and automobile enthusiasts an opportunity to explore Tesla’s electric vehicle lineup and experience the company’s technology up close.
Tesla launches new six-seater SUV
Alongside the launch of the Bengaluru centre, Tesla has also introduced the new Model YL SUV in India. The three-row, six-seater electric SUV has been designed mainly for family travel and long-distance journeys, with prices starting at ₹61.99 lakh.
The Model YL offers a claimed driving range of up to 681 km on a single charge and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just five seconds. Tesla says the SUV also provides a spacious cabin with improved legroom and headroom for passengers.
The vehicle additionally features a large cargo capacity of 2,539 litres, making it suitable for family trips and long-distance travel.
Focus on safety and fast charging
Tesla highlighted that the Model YL has received five-star safety ratings from agencies including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Euro NCAP and ANCAP.
The company is also promoting its Supercharging technology, claiming the SUV can gain up to 288 km of range with just 15 minutes of charging.
As part of its India growth plans, Tesla has announced a dedicated service centre in Whitefield to strengthen after-sales support and maintenance services for customers in Bengaluru.
Apart from Bengaluru, Tesla Experience Centres are already operational in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurugram as the company expands its retail presence across India.
