Bengaluru: Kannada actor Radhika Kumaraswamy has been summoned by the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru in an alleged cheating case revolving around Yuvaraj Swamy, who is presently in police custody.
The actor has been asked to appear before the Police today, January 8.
It is said that the accused Yuvraj Swamy has duped many VVIPs including actors, businessmen and politicians and it is also said that Radhika received a sum of Rs 75 lakhs from the accused.
The CCB, on Friday will record her statement with regard to the amount received.
It is said that Radhika was given the amount in two installments in early 2020 (Rs 15 lakhs in first installment and balance in second installment) to act in a film produced by the accused.
“I knew Yuvraj since 17 years and he was close to my father, but I didn’t know about his background.,” said Radhika Kumaraswamy, responding to the issue.
Meanwhile, an audio clip said to be alleged conversation between Yuvaraj and Radhika has been making rounds.
In the conversation, the man is heard telling the lady to be ready in ‘fine saree’ to meet ‘some people from Uttara Karnataka’. The authenticity and the context of the conversation is not known.
