Bengaluru: Former Karnataka cadre Indian Police Service Officer K Annamalai, also known as ‘Singham of Karnataka’, on Tuesday will join the Bharatiya Janata Party, in New Delhi, in presence of BJP National President JP Nadda and others.
Speaking to The New Indian Express, Annamalai said that he has been a nationalist at heart and is a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The BJP was my natural choice when I decided to join politics. It is the only party where there is no nepotism and sycophancy,” he said.
Annamalai, who retired from service in 2019 to take up social service said that there are lot of misconceptions about the BJP in Tamil Nadu, which needs to be cleared.
Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar was the first to welcome Annamalai into the party folds, through a tweet.
