Bengaluru: Newly elected Rajya Sabha member K Narayana took oath on Monday in Sanskrit, in the presence of Vice president K Venkaiah Naidu.
K Narayana was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha recently. It can be recalled that he is running a magazine called ‘Sambhashana Sandesha’.
Narayana, who hails from Kasargod district in Kerala belongs to the influential Devanga community and is considered as very close to RSS leadership both in the state and at the center.
He is the first MP from the state to take oath in Sanskrit.
Speaking to the reporters, he stated that his priority is supporting the cause of Sanskrit in coming days including promoting it among the general public.
