Belagavi – In a dramatic and unusual incident, Yallappa Gurav from Ambewadi village in Belagavi taluk arrived at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) District Hospital on Tuesday afternoon with a snake in a bottle—the very one that had bitten him.
The snake had bitten him on the left palm while he was working on agricultural land. Instead of panicking, Gurav managed to catch the snake, placed it in a plastic bottle, and took it along to the hospital to help doctors identify the species and administer accurate treatment.
District Surgeon Dr. Vithal Shinde confirmed that Gurav came to the hospital around 12:30 PM and was admitted for treatment. “His condition is stable,” the doctor said. Hospital authorities are now monitoring his recovery closely.
The incident, which took place in the Belagavi Rural police station limits, has drawn attention for both Gurav’s presence of mind and the peculiar sight of a live snake accompanying a bite victim to the emergency room.
