The Bengaluru City Customs Commissionerate destroyed drugs worth an estimated Rs 36.08 crore as part of an ongoing crackdown on smuggling and illicit drug trade. On January 24, a total of 11.997 kilograms of banned substances, including cocaine and ganja, were incinerated.
This operation was part of the Drug Disposal Campaign initiated by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to combat the illegal drug trade. The Customs Commissioner praised the officers involved, calling the initiative a significant step in addressing drug trafficking and curbing drug abuse. He emphasized the need for continued vigilance and efforts in the fight against the drug menace.
