Bengaluru: Apple has announced the launch of its third retail store in India, located in Hebbal, north Bengaluru, which will open its doors to customers on September 2. The store marks the company’s third official retail presence in the country after Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi, further strengthening Apple’s direct-to-customer reach in one of its fastest-growing markets.

Apple Hebbal to offer full in-store experience

The barricade of the upcoming store has already been unveiled, featuring colourful artwork inspired by India’s national bird, the peacock. The retail outlet will showcase the entire Apple product lineup, while customers will also have access to dedicated support from Apple Specialists, business teams, and creatives.

In addition, the store will host Today at Apple sessions — free, hands-on events designed to help customers explore creative tools, sharpen productivity skills, or learn coding. Sessions will also cover topics such as Apple Intelligence and working smarter on Mac.

Bengaluru’s role in Apple’s global strategy

The new store reflects Apple’s growing commitment to India, especially Bengaluru, which is emerging as a global hub for the company’s manufacturing and corporate operations.

Earlier this month, Foxconn, Apple’s Taiwanese contract manufacturer, officially began production of the iPhone 17 at its new facility in Devanahalli, near Bengaluru. This marks a significant milestone in Apple’s global supply chain restructuring.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, during the company’s recent earnings call, confirmed the strategic shift: “For the June quarter, we do expect the majority of iPhones sold in the US will have India as their country of origin.”

Industry reports suggest that from the June quarter onwards, India is poised to become the primary manufacturing hub for iPhones sold in the US, as Apple diversifies away from its dependence on China amid global tariff pressures.

Expansion of corporate presence in the city

Beyond retail and manufacturing, Apple is also expanding its corporate footprint in Bengaluru. According to data firm Propstack, Apple India has leased 2.7 lakh sqft of office space in the city for a 10-year period, at a starting monthly rent of ₹6.3 crore. Over the decade, the company is expected to spend more than ₹1,000 crore in rent, parking, and maintenance charges.

Conclusion

The launch of Apple Hebbal is not just another store opening but a key milestone in the tech giant’s India story. With its growing retail presence, large-scale manufacturing push, and expanding corporate base, Bengaluru is fast becoming central to Apple’s operations and long-term strategy. For customers, the new store promises an immersive Apple experience, while for the city, it cements Bengaluru’s position as a global technology hub.
