Bengaluru — A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning when 26-year-old Priyanka Kumari Poonia, a banker with the UK-based OneSavings Bank Group, lost her life after falling from a motorcycle and being run over by a truck. The accident took place on the pothole-ridden Huskur–Makali Road near Alur in Bengaluru Rural district.

Priyanka was riding pillion with her brother, Naresh Kumar Poonia, who was driving the motorcycle. As they approached a car that had slowed down due to a pothole, Naresh applied the brakes. This sudden braking caused the motorcycle’s handlebar to collide with an oncoming truck, leading to a loss of control. Priyanka fell to the right side of the road and was tragically run over by the truck, resulting in her death on the spot. Naresh escaped with minor injuries.
