A day after the collapse of a seven-storey under-construction building in Bengaluru’s Horamavu Agara area claimed five lives, a survivor, Vakeel Paswan, recounted the terrifying moment. Paswan, a laborer working on the sixth floor, managed to jump to safety but expressed shock at the incident, stating, “Three of us got out, but one was stuck…I can’t understand what happened.”
The collapse, which occurred amid heavy rain, led to a rescue operation that saved 13 people. Authorities arrested Bhuvan Reddy, the building’s owner, along with contractor Muniyappa, for exceeding construction limits. The police have filed an FIR naming several suspects.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed sorrow and vowed stricter regulations, stating that construction without proper licenses would be halted.
