The alleged abuse of toddlers at a daycare centre inside a Bengaluru technology campus has triggered widespread outrage and reignited concerns over the safety and regulation of childcare facilities across India.
The shocking incident, in which caregivers allegedly subjected young children to physical and emotional abuse, has prompted investigations by the police and child rights authorities. The case has also highlighted the urgent need for stronger monitoring of daycare centres that care for millions of children whose parents depend on such facilities while at work.

Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged abuse, while the company concerned has temporarily closed the daycare facility and said it is cooperating with authorities. Meanwhile, the Karnataka government has sought explanations from those responsible and assured that appropriate action will be taken if any violations are established.
The incident has become a wake-up call for policymakers, employers and childcare providers, underscoring the need to rebuild parents’ trust through stronger safeguards and greater accountability.
