Bengaluru, October 15, 2025: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has strongly defended Bengaluru’s position as a national leader in infrastructure, human resources, and innovation. Responding to recent criticisms from Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Shivakumar emphasized that Bengaluru remains unparalleled in these areas.
“There is no match for Bengaluru in terms of infrastructure, human resources, and innovation. Some people take the name of Bengaluru as they need it to market themselves,” Shivakumar stated during a press interaction at Vidhana Soudha. He highlighted that Bengaluru is home to approximately 25 lakh IT professionals and 2 lakh foreign nationals, contributing significantly to the nation’s economy.
Shivakumar also pointed out that many global companies are transitioning from rented spaces to owning their campuses in Bengaluru, underscoring the city’s enduring appeal and business-friendly environment.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about Bengaluru’s infrastructure challenges. While acknowledging these issues, he reiterated the city’s unmatched status and urged critics to recognize its contributions to the country’s development.
