A day after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) ordered the closure of Vels Studio and Entertainment Ltd. for non-compliance with environmental norms, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said the makers of Bigg Boss Kannada should be allowed to rectify their mistakes and resume the popular reality show.

The studio, located in the Bidadi Industrial Area in Bengaluru South District, is where the current edition of Bigg Boss Kannada is being filmed. The show was stopped just 10 days after its commencement, as the studio was sealed due to environmental rule violations.

Deputy CM’s intervention

Mr. Shivakumar said he had spoken with the KSPCB chairman and instructed the Deputy Commissioner to give the production team an opportunity to correct their errors. “Employment is important. If there is a mistake on the makers’ side, they have to rectify it. Bigg Boss or any other entertainment shows are necessary. Private businesses should come and invest. If mistakes happen, they have to set it right,” he said.

Impact on show telecast

Due to the closure, a shortened version of the episode was broadcast on Colors Kannada on Tuesday. As of Wednesday, the makers were still unable to air a full episode due to lack of content. They are hoping to obtain legal clearance by Thursday so the show can resume in its full format from Friday.
