The Chandra Layout police in Bengaluru have filed a case against a 38-year-old welder, Imran Khan, for allegedly strangling his wife, Ghousia (31), at their residence in Gangondanahalli. The incident is believed to have occurred on the night of November 22. Imran is currently absconding and is suspected to have fled with the couple’s four-year-old son, Mohammed Raheem Ullah Khan.

The crime came to light on November 23 when Ghousia’s brother, Zameer Ullah Khan, found her lifeless body around 11 pm. A veil was tightly wrapped around her neck. Zameer had gone to check on her after learning that Imran had contacted his employer requesting financial help, citing domestic issues. He immediately filed a complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR.

Imran and Ghousia married in August 2019 but reportedly began facing marital discord about six months ago. Imran had accused Ghousia of infidelity, leading to frequent conflicts. Although the family intervened, the issues persisted, and Ghousia moved to her parents’ house for over a month. She returned to Imran just 10 days before her tragic death, despite sharing with her family that she faced threats and physical abuse.

Authorities are actively investigating the case and searching for Imran. This incident underscores the urgent need for addressing domestic violence and ensuring support systems for victims.
