In a disturbing incident in Kasturi Nagar, a Bengaluru resident recounted being stopped and robbed by men posing as fake cops. The victim shared his experience on Reddit, detailing how he was approached by a man in uniform and two others in civilian clothes who claimed to be officers. After asking routine questions, the uniformed man left, leaving the victim alone with the two imposters.

During the encounter, the two men searched the victim’s belongings, took his phone, and accessed it using face recognition. One of the men engaged him in casual conversation while the other rummaged through his wallet and bike, recording his personal details. After making it seem like a routine check, they allowed him to leave.

Upon returning home, the victim discovered that ₹3,000 in cash had been stolen from his wallet. He expressed frustration and anger over being conned, emphasizing that his inability to speak Kannada made him an easier target for the impersonators.

The incident serves as a crucial reminder to remain vigilant when approached by unknown individuals, even if they appear to be law enforcement. The victim urged others to report similar encounters to authorities to help prevent such impersonation and theft cases.

Community Reactions:
Reddit users reacted by suggesting the victim report the incident to the nearest police station, noting the potential existence of nearby CCTV cameras that could aid in identifying the culprits. However, some expressed skepticism about the police response, highlighting a sense of helplessness regarding the effectiveness of law enforcement in such matters.
