A private school in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area was shut early on Tuesday after it received a threatening email, prompting immediate precautionary measures. Parents were asked to collect their children by 11:30 am as Whitefield Police initiated a full inspection of the school campus.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield Division) confirmed that manual checks revealed no suspicious items, and a dog squad was deployed for a more thorough examination. “We found nothing so far. Further updates will follow post the dog squad’s search,” he stated.
This incident follows a larger security scare. On July 18, around 40 private schools across Bengaluru received similar bomb threat emails. The messages, titled “BOMBS INSIDE THE SCHOOL”, were sent from an anonymous email ID — roadkill333@atomicmail.io — claiming explosives were hidden in black plastic bags in classrooms.
The chilling message also read: “I will erase every last one of you… You all deserve to suffer… I will commit suicide after the news kick in.”
Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh addressed public concern, stating, “Most such threats turn out to be hoaxes, but we treat every case seriously. Investigations are ongoing to identify the sender.”
Authorities reassured citizens that no explosives were found, and students are safe. However, the cybercrime unit is actively probing the origin of the email to trace the perpetrator and prevent future panic-inducing messages.
The case underscores the urgent need for vigilance and digital safety in educational institutions.
