A homicide probe has been launched after the corpse of an unidentified woman was found stuffed in a sack and abandoned inside a garbage truck under the Chennammanakere Achukattu police station limits early Sunday morning. Authorities estimate the woman was aged between 30 and 35.
The body, bound and wrapped in the sack, is believed to have been discarded into the waste vehicle sometime late Saturday night or before dawn on Sunday. The discovery occurred when a local resident, stepping out to throw household trash, spotted the unusually heavy, suspicious-looking sack and quickly alerted law enforcement.
Officers from Chennammanakere Achukattu police station arrived promptly and recovered the remains. Preliminary findings indicate that the woman could have died from smothering, though the precise cause of death will only be confirmed after a postmortem examination. Investigators have not dismissed the likelihood of sexual assault, pending results from forensic tests.
CCTV recordings from nearby areas have provided possible leads, suggesting that the body may have been brought to the scene in an auto-rickshaw.
Police have officially registered a murder case and launched a detailed inquiry to ascertain the woman’s identity, track down the perpetrators, and uncover the motive behind the crime.
Authorities have appealed to the public for any clues or information that might help identify the victim or reveal critical details about the incident.
