A Bengaluru resident recently shared her encounter with a suspicious business proposal, detailing the high-pressure tactics used to push her into a substantial ₹4.5 lakh investment for distributor rights in a “B2B e-commerce venture.” In a Reddit post titled “Another BLR Scam,” the woman recounted being invited by a casual acquaintance to discuss a “business expansion” opportunity at a Park Square Mall café.
Upon arrival, she met with her acquaintance’s partner and later a “senior partner,” who portrayed the venture as an exclusive opportunity with promises of commissions and lifetime royalties. However, when the resident requested verifiable information like a website or official documentation, the senior partner dismissed her concerns, insisting that details would only be revealed post-investment.
Reddit users quickly flagged the meeting as a likely MLM or scam. Comments pointed out the telltale signs: urgency to invest, lack of transparency, and “exclusive” pitches. Many recognized the scheme as a rebranded form of an old MLM tactic, warning others to stay cautious.
