Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s pleasant climate has long been one of the city’s biggest attractions, but for one visiting comedian, the cool weather has become an unexpected obstacle to productivity.

Stand-up comedian Shubham Pujari has gone viral after sharing a light-hearted Instagram video joking that Bengaluru’s weather makes him want to stay in bed all day rather than work.

‘How do Bengaluru people manage to work?’

In the video, Pujari playfully questioned how residents manage to wake up every morning and head to work despite the city’s cool, cloudy weather.

“I have a question for the people of Bengaluru: how do you manage to work here?” he asked. “Every time I visit, all I want to do is wrap myself in a blanket, scroll through my phone, sleep and relax.”

Pujari said he visits Bengaluru every few months for stand-up comedy shows but finds himself unusually sluggish during each trip.

Comparing the city with Delhi, he joked that while a cup of tea is enough to energise him in the national capital, even two or three cups fail to shake off the laziness he experiences in Bengaluru.

He humorously wondered whether the government provides special training to help people stay productive in the city’s famously pleasant weather.

Social media users relate

The video, captioned “Dear Bengaluru, we need to talk,” quickly attracted attention online, with many users agreeing that the city’s weather often makes them feel sleepy.

One user commented, “The weather is a productivity killer,” while another joked, “We work from under blankets.”

Others credited Bengaluru’s famous coffee culture for keeping professionals going, with one user writing, “Coffee keeps Bengaluru running.” Another added, “This weather demands a nap.”

A city loved for its climate

Bengaluru’s moderate temperatures remain one of its biggest attractions, especially when compared with the extreme summers experienced in many Indian cities. While Pujari’s observations were made in jest, the video has struck a chord with many residents who admit that the city’s cool weather can occasionally make getting out of bed a challenge.

The viral clip has once again highlighted why Bengaluru’s climate continues to be one of its most talked-about—and most loved—features
