A strong demand has emerged to name the railway flyover on the Mysuru–Chamarajanagar National Highway after former MP V. Srinivas Prasad.

BJP workers and supporters of Srinivas Prasad held a preliminary meeting at the Tourist Temple in Nanjangud ahead of his birth anniversary on August 6. The gathering, led by BJP district vice president C. Chikkaranganayaka, highlighted Prasad’s contributions to the region’s development, especially his efforts in securing funds and facilitating the flyover’s construction.

Participants opposed proposals to name the flyover after late MP Dhruvanarayan, leading to heated exchanges during the meeting.

Later, BJP leaders and Prasad’s supporters submitted a petition to Nanjangud Municipal Council president Srikanth and municipal commissioner, formally requesting the flyover be named in Srinivas Prasad’s honour.

Several BJP leaders, municipal council members, and party workers were present during the submission.
