Tremors may have been felt within 30 km

According to KSNDMC, the earthquake may have been felt in areas within a radius of around 20 to 30 km from the epicentre.

The relatively low magnitude of the tremor is expected to limit its impact. The KSNDMC director said an earthquake of this magnitude was unlikely to cause damage to people or property.

However, the extent to which the tremor was felt may have varied depending on the distance from the epicentre and local conditions.

Area falls under Seismic Zone II

The affected region falls under Seismic Zone II, which is classified as a low seismic hazard zone in India’s seismic zoning system.

KSNDMC has advised people not to panic, noting that the earthquake was of low intensity and was unlikely to cause damage.

The incident highlights the importance of monitoring seismic activity and communicating reliable information to the public. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and rely on official updates.
