A late-night disturbance outside a liquor outlet in Bengaluru ended in arrest after a man allegedly created chaos, abused staff and attempted to assault police personnel who arrived at the scene.

The accused has been identified as Saikumar Reddy (26), who works at a bar in Electronic City.

Demand for alcohol after closing hours

According to police, Reddy went to SLR Bar, an MRP outlet on Neeladri Road, at around 1.45 am and began banging on the closed doors, demanding liquor.

When cashier Ramesh reportedly refused service citing closing time, the accused allegedly began shouting, abusing staff and creating a public nuisance outside the premises.

Police allegedly threatened

After a passerby alerted authorities, personnel from Electronic City Police Station reached the spot.

Police said the man became more aggressive on seeing officers. He allegedly used abusive language, threatened them and attempted to assault officials while they were performing duty.

He is further accused of picking up a stone and trying to attack the ASI and constable Mutturaj.

Claimed influence, sent to custody
