A massive fire broke out at a school building in western Bengaluru on Saturday morning, triggering concern among local residents. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported as the institution was closed for summer holidays.
According to fire department officials, an alert was received at around 9.55 am regarding a fire at Chitrakoota Kaushalya School in Nagadevanahalli. Emergency teams rushed to the scene and launched immediate firefighting operations.
Quick response prevents major damage
Three fire tenders were deployed to the school premises shortly after the alert was received. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread to other parts of the building.
Officials said the fire was primarily confined to the auditorium located on the top floor of the school building.
“The prompt response of the fire personnel helped contain the blaze and prevent further damage,” a fire department official said.
Short-circuit suspected
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short-circuit may have triggered the fire. However, authorities have launched a detailed inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident.
While no one was present inside the building at the time, several items and school property were reportedly damaged in the fire.
Summer closure averts tragedy
Officials noted that the school being closed for summer holidays played a crucial role in preventing a potentially serious incident. Had classes been in progress, the situation could have posed a significant risk to students and staff.
The incident has once again highlighted the importance of regular electrical safety checks and fire preparedness in educational institutions
