The National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed on Monday that two suspects in the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast had previously harbored individuals involved in the murder of SSI Wilson in 2020.
Key Details:
- Suspects in Blast: Abdul Matheen Taha and Mussavir Hussain Shazib, residents of Thirthahalli, Shivamogga, were connected to the Bengaluru cafe blast and were arrested on April 12.
- Murder Connection: Thowfeek and Abdul Shameem, who murdered SSI Wilson at a Kerala-Tamil Nadu border check-post using a pistol provided by Mehaboob Pasha, were given shelter by Taha and Shazib while on the run.
- Pistol Provider: Mehaboob Pasha, who was linked to the Al-Hind Trust, provided the weapon used in the murder and was involved in promoting ISIS activities.
- ISIS Links: Pasha had also given an online handler link to Khaja Mohideen, a key figure in an ISIS module in Tamil Nadu. Mohideen, involved in multiple terrorist activities, had plans to establish a base in the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu forest and was arrested in Delhi in January 2020 after disappearing from Tamil Nadu.
The NIA’s investigation uncovered a complex web of terror activities linking these individuals to broader ISIS conspiracies and violent crimes in India.
