Rainbow Children’s Hospital has launched a Multidisciplinary Pediatric Food Allergy Clinic at its Marathahalli unit in Bengaluru, aiming to provide specialised care for children suffering from food allergies and related disorders.

The new facility is designed to offer families one-stop expert care through accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment and long-term nutritional guidance.

Specialised support for children

Hospital officials said food allergies in children are often misunderstood, leading to delayed diagnosis or unnecessary food restrictions that can affect growth and health.

The clinic focuses on understanding each child’s complete medical condition rather than depending only on tests. Doctors will create customised treatment plans suited to individual needs.

Team of experts under one roof

The clinic brings together specialists including a paediatric gastroenterologist, paediatric allergist and expert paediatric dietitian.

This integrated model will also help address related conditions such as asthma, eczema and digestive issues, ensuring broader care for the child’s overall wellbeing.

Dr Lavenya R Padmanaban and Dr Nandana Bala said the aim is to provide evidence-based treatment while ensuring nutrition and growth are not compromised.

Rising awareness, growing need

As awareness around food allergies rises, so do myths and confusion among families. Many parents struggle to identify genuine allergies from temporary food reactions.

The new clinic in Bengaluru hopes to bridge this gap by offering trusted guidance, structured evaluations and safe treatment pathways.

Rainbow Children’s Hospital said the initiative is part of its wider mission to improve child healthcare outcomes through coordinated and specialised medical support.ngaluru for children needing expert diagnosis and care.
