In a significant development regarding the murder of Akhilesh Kumar Yadav, a worker from Bengaluru’s Continental Closures Company, seven individuals have been apprehended in connection with the case. Yadav’s body was discovered in a forest area between Banavikallu and Gunasagara, prompting an intensive police investigation. One suspect, Vishwanath, is still at large.
Initially, the identity of the deceased was unknown until it was confirmed to be Yadav, aged 27. The arrested suspects include Mohammed Aesan from Ramanagara, Roshan Jameer from Peenya, Ganesh N. from Hesaraghatta, H. Nagesh from Ramagondanahalli, L. Nandakumar from Tigalarapalya, Manukumar from Begur, and a juvenile involved in the case. All suspects are currently held at Hadagali Jail.
According to police reports, the suspects, who worked in the same area as Yadav, abducted him and demanded ₹2 lakh from his employer. During the abduction, Yadav was reportedly beaten, resulting in his death. After the crime, the suspects transported his body from Bengaluru and abandoned it in the forest near Gunasagara.
The investigation leading to the arrests was conducted under the guidance of District Police Superintendent Sriharibabu B.L., Additional Superintendent of Police Salim Pasha, and Kudligi DSP Malleshappa Mallapur, with on-ground efforts led by CPI Venkataswamy and PSI Sidramappa Bidaranni.
Akhilesh Kumar Yadav had been missing since the evening of August 19. He was last seen leaving his home around 8 p.m. and was reportedly on the phone during his final moments. Around 11 p.m. that night, he made a distress call to his employer, Ramashankar, claiming he was being attacked and urgently needed ₹2 lakh. The call was abruptly disconnected, prompting Ramashankar to inform Yadav’s brother, Suresh, who subsequently filed a missing persons report at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station.
The case has garnered significant attention as the investigation unfolds, highlighting the tragic circumstances surrounding Yadav’s death and the urgent need for community safety and justice.
