Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested three persons for allegedly conspiring to murder a former rowdy-sheeter in Bengaluru, police said.
The accused were apprehended following an intelligence-based operation after officials received information about a planned attack. The arrests prevented the alleged murder plot from being executed, officials said.
Murder conspiracy foiled
According to the police, the suspects had allegedly planned to target a former rowdy-sheeter and were preparing to carry out the attack. Acting on credible inputs, CCB officers launched an operation and detained the trio before the plan could be materialised.
The identities of the accused and the intended victim have not been disclosed by the police as investigations continue.
Investigation underway
The case has been registered under the jurisdiction of the Siddapura Police Station. Investigators are questioning the arrested men to determine the motive behind the alleged conspiracy and to ascertain whether others were involved in planning the attack.
Police are also examining the background of the accused and gathering evidence related to the plot.
Police intensify crackdown on organised crime
The latest arrests are part of Bengaluru Police’s continued efforts to curb organised crime and prevent violent offences before they occur. Officials said intelligence-led operations have helped foil several criminal conspiracies in recent months.
