Bengaluru will face major traffic diversions and parking bans on Sunday, August 10, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits the city to inaugurate the Yellow Line of Namma Metro and attend other key events. Restrictions will be in place from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm across several stretches, with heavy crowds and VIP movement expected.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, PM Modi’s four-hour itinerary begins at 10:30 am with his arrival at HAL Airport, followed by helicopter and road travel to KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station to flag off three new Vande Bharat Express trains — Bengaluru–Belagavi, Amritsar–Katra, and Nagpur–Pune.
By 11:45 am, he will reach Ragigudda Metro Station, travelling by metro to Electronics City before heading to IIIT-B. There, he will inaugurate the Yellow Line and lay the foundation for Namma Metro Phase 3. He will depart for Delhi around 2:45 pm.
Key roads to avoid include Marenahalli Main Road, the Electronic City expressway, Hosur Road (both directions), and internal roads in Electronics City Phase 1 such as Infosys Avenue and Velankani Road.
Suggested diversions include Sarakki Market–IG Circle–RV Dental–Jayadeva Hospital, Outer Ring Road routes, and NICE Road–Jigani Road connections.
Parking bans will be enforced on Marenahalli Main Road and 4th Main Road.
Authorities advise motorists to plan ahead, follow diversion signs, and use alternative routes to avoid delays during the PM’s visit.
