Bengaluru: The Rajajinagar Traffic Police have implemented traffic diversions starting Saturday due to ongoing construction work at the FTI Junction on Outer Ring Road.
The temporary measures aim to ensure smoother traffic flow and reduce congestion in one of the city’s busy corridors. Commuters have been advised to follow the revised routes and cooperate with authorities during the construction period.
Diversions for heavy vehicles
Heavy vehicles travelling from Surana College Junction towards Krishnandanagar or Mahalakshmi Layout have been directed to take a diversion.
Such vehicles must turn left at Surana College, proceed to take a U-turn at SRS Junction, then turn right at the CMTI signal, and finally take a left at Lorry Terminal Cross.
BMTC buses rerouted
Buses operated by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) travelling from the CMTI Junction towards Sumanahalli or Nayandahalli will not pass under the FTI bridge.
Instead, these buses will use the flyover and travel via Dr Rajkumar Samadhi, helping avoid congestion in the construction zone.
Guidelines for light vehicles
Motorists using light vehicles and heading towards Mahalakshmi Layout from the Surana College side have also been given alternate directions.
They are required to turn left at the FTI bridge, take a U-turn at the CMTI signal, and then turn left at Lorry Terminal Cross to reach their destination.
Public cooperation sought
The traffic police have urged the public to adhere to the revised routes and cooperate with enforcement personnel to minimise inconvenience.
Officials noted that such diversions are necessary to facilitate infrastructure development while maintaining traffic discipline in the area.
